Final Body and Paint Work:
I spent well over a year
searching around the Indianapolis area for a quality paint job at a fair price. After
a lot of dead ends (and dead beats), a drag racing friend of mine told me about a small
shop about an hour north of Indianapolis that had painted quite a few race cars,
street rods and custom bikes in the area.
Turns out that Murray's
Body Shop (Tipton, Indiana) is one of those small town gems you often hear about
but rarely find. The shop does first rate body and paint work without the
"big city" price. When I first went to visit them, Tony and the team were
restoring a one-owner, numbers matching, '67 Ford Shelby GT-500. I figured
if someone was willing to let them restore what is easily a six-figure classic
Mustang, I can trust them with my $600 Beetle. If you need some paint work
