Chassis / Suspension:
While the body was off to paint,
I got busy on cleaning up the chassis and suspension. As you could
imagine, it really needed it after sitting for over six (6) years of sitting
uncovered in the garage! All of
the parts were pulled off, stripped down to bare metal and re-painted or
powder coated. In addition, I upgraded the front beam and added a little
stiffening "out back" to help the car stick on the straight -- and in the corners.
Here's what I added:
-CB Performance 2"
narrowed front beam w/ adjusters
-CB Performance 2.5" drop spindles
-CB Performance front disc brake kit (5x130 Porsche lug
pattern)
-CB Performance "Roto Hub" rear disc brake kit w/ parking
brakes (5x130 Porsche lug pattern)
-Sway-A-Way adjustable springs plates
-Sway-A-Way 3/4" sway bars (front and rear)
-Sway-A-Way urethane bushings
-KYB GR-2 shocks (front & rear)
-Custom & Speed Parts "Kafer Cup" Torque Bar
-Bugpack heavy-duty transaxle cradle mount
-VW heavy-duty rubber mounts (front and rear)
-Joel Mohr intermediate mount
